Synopsis – TALKING PARTS

Summer 1975. Obsessed with speed, a twentyyearold mechanic launches his red Gran Torino down a secondary road. His pursuit of a record ends in a brutal crash a shock so violent that he remains haunted by a monstrous noise he cannot forget.

Determined to uncover the source of that noise, he immerses himself in the study of his car’s parts. What begins as a personal obsession evolves into a relentless mechanical investigation: a true duel between man and machine. He eventually discovers a dangerous component. Decades later, now retired, he stands before a wall covered with photos of car parts and a mysterious accident. This deadly part, hidden inside several muscle cars, may have silently caused tragedies long attributed to speed, intoxication, or fatigue.

This short film is not only the story of one man’s obsession — it exposes a forgotten danger that still threatens muscle car enthusiasts today. Never officially identified, this deadly car part lingers as an invisible menace. Between memory and mystery, the documentary transforms a private obsession into a chilling investigation, forcing the audience to ask: how many accidents were truly caused by human error… and how many by this fatal piece?
